Anisimova Caps Great Year with Beijing Title Win After US Open Finalist Performance.

Amanda Anisimova has capped off a stellar 2025 season by winning the China Open title in Beijing. The American defeated Czech rising star Linda Noskova 6-0, 2-6, 6-2 in the final on Sunday. This victory marks Anisimova's fourth career title and her second WTA 1000 level title of the year, the first being the Qatar Open.

Anisimova's path to the title included a dominant performance over compatriot Coco Gauff in the semi-finals, winning 6-1, 6-2. En route to the final, Noskova upset several top players, including home favorite Zheng Qinwen and fifth seed Jessica Pegula. In the final, Anisimova started strong, winning the first set 6-0 in just 23 minutes. However, Noskova fought back in the second set, breaking early and taking a 5-2 lead before closing it out 6-2. Anisimova regained control in the deciding set, breaking early and sealing the victory 6-2.

"It has been incredible weeks," Anisimova said after the match. "I want to thank all the fans, and I believe every single player can feel the support. I had the best time here". Noskova acknowledged the final as an "unforgettable experience".

This win in Beijing is a significant achievement for Anisimova, especially considering the challenges she faced leading up to the tournament. She had a wisdom tooth extracted on the day she flew to Beijing and wasn't sure if traveling was the right decision. She also felt she had taken too much time off after the US Open and didn't feel match-fit.

The China Open victory follows Anisimova's impressive run in the US Open where she reached the final but lost to Aryna Sabalenka. Earlier in the season, she was also a finalist at Wimbledon. Her consistent performance has propelled her to a career-high ranking of world No. 4. Anisimova is now just the fourth player born since 2000 to win multiple WTA-1000 titles in a season, joining Bianca Andreescu, Iga Swiatek, and Mirra Andreeva.

Anisimova's success this year marks a significant comeback after taking a break for mental health reasons in 2023. Her return to the top tier of tennis has been marked by powerful gameplay and a renewed focus. This year, Anisimova became the only player to beat French Open champion Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff.
