IndiGo is set to launch a new service connecting Delhi to Manchester, effective November 15, 2025. The airline will operate four weekly flights on this new route, in addition to increasing its Mumbai-Manchester service to four times a week from September 22, 2025.
This expansion signifies IndiGo's growing presence in the long-haul international market. The Delhi-Manchester route will be served by Boeing 787-9 aircraft, which are being damp-leased from Norse Atlantic Airways. IndiGo will be the only Indian carrier offering direct flights between Delhi and Manchester, mirroring its current position on the Mumbai-Manchester route.
The airline launched its first-ever long-haul routes from Mumbai to Manchester and Amsterdam in July 2025. Due to strong demand, the Mumbai-Amsterdam service will increase to six weekly flights from September 20, 2025, and then to daily flights from October 13, 2025.
Manchester has strong links to South Asia, reflecting significant cultural and family connections. Approximately 540,000 people of Indian origin reside in northern England. IndiGo's Delhi route, along with the resumption of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights, will re-establish direct access to both India and Pakistan for the region's large diaspora, while also supporting trade and tourism growth. PIA is set to resume flights between Islamabad and Manchester on October 25, operating twice a week using Boeing 777 aircraft.
IndiGo's CEO, Pieter Elbers, has stated that the airline's long-haul foray marks a crucial moment in its global expansion. The airline is proud to offer its first long-haul service connecting Mumbai with Manchester, a route that holds special significance.

Furthermore, from October 26, IndiGo will begin daily non-stop flights between Mumbai and London Heathrow (LHR), operated using Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
IndiGo is also growing in other international markets. The airline plans to initiate daily flights from Mumbai starting on October 26. It is also launching new routes to China, becoming the first airline to provide non-stop service between India and China since 2020.
