Tragic Loss: Manipur Woman Found Dead in Munirka, Partner Seriously Injured; Investigation Underway.

A woman from Manipur, identified as Thempi Khongsai, was found dead in her Munirka home in New Delhi on Monday following a suspected domestic dispute. Her partner, Thangjam Viney Meitei, was found critically injured and is currently receiving treatment.

Police received a call from the Kishangarh Police Station on Sunday regarding a quarrel at a residence in Munirka Village. Upon arrival, officers discovered the main door was locked from the inside. After forcing entry into the house and then the bathroom, they found both Khongsai and Meitei unconscious and bleeding.

Khongsai had a deep cut on the back of her neck, while Meitei sustained injuries to his neck. Both were immediately transported to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where Khongsai was pronounced dead. Meitei is currently under medical care.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Amit Goel, Khongsai was a resident of Munirka Village and a native of the Senapati district in Manipur. She worked as a beautician. Meitei, originally from Bishnupur, Manipur, runs a bakery in Munirka village. Preliminary investigations suggest the couple had been living together for approximately three years.

The events leading up to the incident suggest a domestic dispute. On Sunday night, Khongsai reportedly called her father to inform him about a disagreement with Meitei. Her father then contacted the couple's landlady, asking her to check on them. The landlady's daughter subsequently made a PCR call to the police.

Authorities have recovered a knife from the scene and suspect it was used in the attack. The crime team and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) have collected evidence from the site. A case has been registered, and legal proceedings are underway as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Khongsai's death. Police are awaiting Meitei's statement to clarify the sequence of events.
