Director Hanu Raghavapudi has confirmed that "Fauzi," starring Prabhas, will be released as a two-part epic, with the second installment serving as a prequel. Mythri Movie Makers is producing what is touted as one of their most ambitious projects, uniting Prabhas with the makers of "Pushpa".
The first film will establish the world of Prabhas's character, a soldier portrayed as a one-man battalion. According to Raghavapudi, the second part will explore another dimension, delving into India's colonial past and those stories that ended tragically but could have been fairy tales in another reality. He also mentioned weaving in personal, real-life experiences that have inspired him. The film is a fictionalized resetting of historical events.
"Fauzi" marks Prabhas's return to the epic period drama genre after his success in the "Baahubali" franchise. The film's tagline, "The bravest tale of a soldier," hints at a narrative centered on forgotten acts of courage and heroism. The makers aim to attract audiences across generations by combining visual spectacle with emotional depth.
Alongside Prabhas, "Fauzi" features debutante Imanvi Esmail in the female lead, also known as Imanvi. The supporting cast includes veteran Bollywood actors Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, and Jaya Prada.
"Fauzi" is slated for release in 2026 and is speculated to be released around Independence Day. Before "Fauzi," Prabhas will appear in the horror-comedy film "The Raja Saab," directed by Maruthi.
