PWHL's Growing Popularity: Expanded Takeover Tour Planned for the 2025-26 Season to Reach More Fans.

The Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) has announced the return and expansion of the PWHL Takeover Tour™ for the 2025-26 season. Building on the success of last season's tour, which drew significant fan engagement and expanded the league's reach, the upcoming tour will feature 16 neutral-site regular-season games played outside the PWHL's current team locations.

The 16 games will be spread across 11 different locations in the United States and Canada. Seven cities will be hosting PWHL games for the first time, including Calgary, Chicago, Dallas, Halifax, Hamilton, Washington, D.C., and Winnipeg. The tour will also revisit Denver, Detroit, Edmonton, and Québec City.

The tour will run from December 17, 2025, to April 7, 2026. All eight PWHL teams will participate in at least three games, with two of those games counting as home games for their schedules. The Montréal Victoire, New York Sirens, and Vancouver Goldeneyes will each play five Takeover Tour games, followed by four games for the Ottawa Charge and Seattle Torrent, and three games for the Boston Fleet, Minnesota Frost, and Toronto Sceptres.

Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, owned by Ilitch Sports + Entertainment, will host games for the third consecutive season. It previously set a U.S. professional women's hockey attendance record of 14,288 and welcomed the one millionth fan in PWHL history on March 16, 2025. Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Edmonton, and Halifax will each host two games during the tour. For example, TD Coliseum in Hamilton, ON will host a matchup between the Seattle Torrent and Toronto Sceptres on January 3. Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg will host a game between Montreal and Ottawa on March 22.

The inaugural 2024-25 PWHL Takeover Tour was a resounding success, drawing 123,601 fans across nine games. An estimated 80% of attendees were experiencing their first-ever PWHL game. The tour welcomed fans from all 50 U.S. states and all 13 Canadian provinces and territories.

Amy Scheer, PWHL Executive Vice President of Business Operations, expressed enthusiasm for the tour's growth, stating that the passion and support from fans and the eagerness of cities to engage with the league have fueled the ambition to expand the tour for Season Three.

Tickets for the PWHL Takeover Tour™ will be available starting with presales on Thursday, November 13, followed by the general on-sale on Friday, November 14 at 10 a.m. local time in host markets. Tickets can be purchased at thepwhl.com/tickets.
