Yogi Adityanath: Ram Mandir flag hoisting embodies 'Ram Rajya', eternal values and faith triumph.

Ayodhya, November 25, 2025 – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared that the 'Dhwaj Arohan' ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya symbolizes the timeless values of 'Ram Rajya' and the victory of faith. The flag hoisting marks the completion of the temple's construction.

The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. The Prime Minister performed the sacred 'Dhwaja Arohan' ritual, hoisting a 22-foot religious flag. Inscriptural tradition, the raising of the 'dhwaja' symbolizes the triumph of dharma over adharma.

Chief Minister Adityanath, in posts on X, stated that a "golden chapter" is being written. Visiting seers and pilgrims hailed the flag hoisting as a moment of historic fulfillment, with chants of "Jai Shri Ram" echoing across Ayodhya. Swami Narottamanand Giri, who arrived from Rae Bareli, described it as a day of immense fortune achieved after great 'tapasya'.

The saffron flag features three sacred symbols hand-embroidered in golden thread: the Sun, representing Lord Ram's Suryavansh lineage; the sacred Om; and a depiction of Lord Hanuman. The flag is being raised on a 42-foot pole atop the temple's spire.

The 'Dhwaj Arohan' signifies the transition of the Ram Mandir from a construction site to a fully sovereign divine abode of Lord Ram. Temple trust officials and priests said the ritual proclaims the site's spiritual activation. Nripendra Mishra, Chairman of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Construction Committee, noted that people who were never invited before, representing communities with whom Lord Ram shared meals, were present.

The ceremony falls on Vivah Panchami, which marks the marriage of Lord Ram and Sita, aligning with the Abhijeet Muhurat. This marks the inaugural celebration of Ram-Sita Vivah Utsav within the completed Ram Mandir.

The Prime Minister is also scheduled to offer prayers at the Ram Darbar Garbh Grah and the Ram Lalla Garbh Grah and visit the Saptmandir, Sheshavtar Mandir, and the Mata Annapurna temple. The temple complex features 87 carved stone episodes from the Valmiki Ramayana and 79 bronze-cast depictions from Indian culture.

Yogi Adityanath had conducted an on-site review to ensure seamless arrangements for the event. Security has been tightened in Ayodhya for the event.

The 'Dhwaj Arohan' differs from the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony held on January 22, 2024. While 'Pran Pratishtha' was the consecration of the Ram Lalla idol, 'Dhwaj Arohan' signifies architectural completion and the public proclamation of the temple's sovereignty. Some priests have termed it the "second pran pratishtha," signifying the activation of the full structure, opening all 44 doors of the temple for rituals.

The Ram Temple symbolizes resilience, devotion, and a bridge between ancient tradition and a connected global future. It represents the culmination of faith, the triumph of civilizational memory, and the restoration of historical justice through the rule of law.
