TWICE to Pursue Legal Options Following Privacy Breaches by Fans During Unofficial Activities.

TWICE Considers Legal Measures Following Privacy Intrusions by Fans

JYP Entertainment, the agency representing the globally recognized K-pop group TWICE, has issued a stern warning regarding the invasion of privacy experienced by the group members during their personal time. On December 15, 2025, the agency released an official statement via the fan community platform FANS, outlining the intrusive behaviors and signaling potential legal action if these actions persist.

The statement detailed instances of fans encroaching upon TWICE's private lives, specifically during personal schedules and unofficial activities. These intrusions include excessive approaches, unauthorized photography and filming, repeated attempts to initiate conversations, and even requests for personal contact information such as phone numbers. JYP Entertainment conveyed strong concern that such behaviors inflict psychological distress and discomfort upon the artists, especially considering their demanding schedules, which involve frequent international travel.

The agency's announcement provided specific examples of unacceptable conduct, such as taking photos or videos during the members' vacations, visits to family homes, and at airports. JYP Entertainment also addressed the issue of fans photographing or sharing images of the artists' family members, friends, and acquaintances who may be traveling with them, emphasizing that the privacy of those around the artists should also be respected. Furthermore, the company discouraged fans from persistently trying to communicate with the members, demanding autographs, or attempting to deliver gifts during both personal and official schedules. Obstructing the artists' paths or taking photos at excessively close range were also cited as dangerous behaviors that could lead to safety accidents.

JYP Entertainment has adopted a zero-tolerance stance, asserting that they will take all necessary measures, including legal action, to protect their artists if these behaviors continue or if situations arise that cause discomfort to the members. The agency appealed to fans for their understanding and cooperation, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring that TWICE can continue their activities and rest in a stable and secure environment. The agency also released a set of fan etiquette guidelines, requesting fans' cooperation in adhering to the guidelines to ensure the artists' safety and privacy.

TWICE is not the first K-pop act to address privacy concerns. The increasing prevalence of social media and the intense interest surrounding K-pop idols have led to numerous instances of privacy violations, prompting agencies to take a firmer stance to protect their artists. These actions highlight the ongoing struggle to balance the accessibility of idols with their fundamental right to privacy.

Meanwhile, TWICE is set to continue their world tour "This Is For" with a concert on January 10 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada.
