In the vibrant world of Bollywood, where relationships and professional endeavors often intertwine, Alia Bhatt's recent comments have sparked considerable buzz. While she has notably remained silent on the roaring success of Ranveer Singh's latest action film, "Dhurandhar," which has become the second biggest Hindi hit of 2025, she has openly praised his performance in a film from six years prior.

During a recent interview with Vogue, Alia reflected on various phases of her life and career. When a picture from the premiere of "Gully Boy" at the Berlin International Film Festival appeared on screen, Alia reminisced about the film and Ranveer's central role in it. She stated, "That evening was the premiere, and 'Gully Boy' received a lot of love." She further added, "Ranveer headlined the movie; he was the 'Gully Boy'. He was just outstanding, like even the music and the rap, till today, I think (it) has a solid vibe".

Her commendation of Ranveer's performance in "Gully Boy" comes in stark contrast to her silence on "Dhurandhar". This silence has not gone unnoticed, especially considering "Dhurandhar" has been a box office phenomenon. The Aditya Dhar directorial venture, a spy thriller, has not only captivated audiences but has also ignited discussions about Ranveer Singh's on-screen dynamism.

Alia and Ranveer have shared a strong camaraderie, both on and off-screen. Their collaboration in Zoya Akhtar's "Gully Boy" was widely appreciated, and they later reunited for Karan Johar's "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani". Their chemistry has been a talking point, with many appreciating their seamless collaboration. In fact, during their appearance on "Koffee with Karan," director Karan Johar highlighted their bond. Alia also revealed on the show that she shared news of her engagement to Ranbir Kapoor with Ranveer before announcing it publicly.

Interestingly, both Ranveer and Alia share a unique connection through their respective partners. Ranveer's wife, Deepika Padukone, and Alia's husband, Ranbir Kapoor, were previously in a relationship. Despite the past, both couples maintain a cordial relationship.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is looking forward to the release of "Dhurandhar 2" in March 2026 and is also slated to star in Farhan Akhtar's "Don 3," expected to begin filming next year. Alia Bhatt is currently anticipating the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Love and War".

While Alia's reasons for not commenting on "Dhurandhar" remain personal, her acknowledgment of Ranveer's talent is a testament to their professional respect and friendship. As both actors continue to evolve in their careers, their paths are likely to cross again, much to the delight of their fans.
