In a surprising turn of events, shows for Avatar: Fire and Ash are being reduced by approximately 30% on Christmas Day to accommodate the release of Kartik Aaryan's new film, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. According to Bollywood Hungama, this show reduction has already commenced at independent cinema chains. Exhibitors are reportedly very optimistic about Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, anticipating a strong performance, especially with the Christmas and New Year holidays approaching.

Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, often abbreviated as TMMTMTTM, is a Hindi-language romantic comedy starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday in the lead roles. The film is directed by Sameer Vidwans and written by Karan Shrikant Sharma. The film also features Neena Gupta and Jackie Shroff in supporting roles. The movie is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Bhumika Tewari, Shareen Mantri Kedia and Kishor Arora under the banners of Dharma Productions and Namah Pictures.

A trade source speaking to Bollywood Hungama stated there is significant demand for Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri among younger audiences, which is expected to translate into a strong opening day, despite competition from other films. The film is considered family-friendly, further boosting its appeal during the holiday season.

Meanwhile, Jio Studios has decided against reducing any shows for Dhurandhar on Christmas Day. Exhibitors will maintain their original screening commitments for Dhurandhar, which has been performing well since its release on December 5th.

Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is scheduled to release in theaters on December 25, 2025. A trailer for the film has already been released, showcasing the contemporary romance between the lead characters, Ray and Rumi, played by Aaryan and Panday, respectively. The trailer suggests a narrative filled with humor, conflict, and emotional complexity, set against the backdrop of coastal European locations.

The music for Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is composed by Vishal and Shekhar, with Hitesh Sonik handling the score.

The decision to reduce shows for Avatar: Fire and Ash was made after Jio Star Studios, the film's distributor in India for Disney India, agreed to the exhibitor's request. Avatar: Fire and Ash was released on December 19th and has received mixed reviews.
