Anupam Kher Reminisces Kareena Kapoor's Debut After Chance Encounter on Flight: A Genuine Connection.

Veteran actor Anupam Kher recently experienced a nostalgic reunion with Kareena Kapoor Khan on a flight to Delhi. The chance encounter prompted Kher to reflect on their first meeting 25 years prior, during the filming of Kapoor's debut movie, "Refugee".

Kher took to Instagram to share a heartfelt note, accompanied by photos of himself and Kapoor from their recent meeting. He reminisced about his initial impressions of the then-budding actress on the sets of J.P. Dutta's "Refugee" in 2000. He described her as "stunningly beautiful, confident yet vulnerable, restless to make it big (which she did) and amazingly real as a person!". Kher also noted that Kapoor was determined to establish herself in the film industry.

In his Instagram post, Kher expressed his admiration for Kapoor's growth over the years. "Over the years I have watched her grow into a very fine and elegant actress!" he wrote. He added that he was delighted to find that even after 25 years in Bollywood, Kapoor remains passionate about her craft. He observed that she is still "hungry for great roles, remains a beautiful person who still is real and loves conversations". Kher also humorously remarked that Kapoor looks the same as she did years ago.

Kher concluded his post with a message of appreciation for Kapoor, thanking her for her "warmth and appreciation!". He extended his love and prayers, wishing her and her family happiness and health.

"Refugee," marked the debut for both Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan. The film, directed by J.P. Dutta, tells the story of an Indian Muslim man who helps refugees cross the border between India and Pakistan and falls in love with a refugee's daughter. Kher played the role of Jaan Mohammad in the movie.

Aside from "Refugee", Kher and Kapoor have also worked together in the 2014 film "The Shaukeens".

On the work front, Anupam Kher recently directed his second film, "Tanvi The Great". The film stars newcomer Shubhangi Dutt and centers around a young girl living with her mother and grandfather, with a story based on the Indian Army and autism. Kareena Kapoor Khan will next be seen in Meghna Gulzar's "Daayra", a film that promises to make audiences reflect on society and its institutions. Kher is also set to star in "The India House," portraying Shyamji Krishna Varma, which will be his 542nd film.
