"On more than a couple of occasions, there has been buzz that the 3 Idiots Sequel is happening," Joshi stated. He also recalled a past instance where reports of a sequel turned out to be misleading, clarifying, "The last time the reports came, it turned out to be for an ad campaign". This highlights the actor's cautious optimism, as he seems aware of the difference between genuine sequel plans and mere promotional activities that capitalize on the film's popularity.
Despite the uncertainty, Joshi expressed his enthusiasm for the possibility of a sequel. "I wish it would happen, but I haven't received any updates so far," he admitted. "I am in no position to know but only the master, Raju sir, Abhijat (Joshi, writer) sir and Aamir would be working on it if there is potential,” Joshi explained.
