Infosys is set to bring good news to many engineering graduates on Christmas 2025, with a significant increase in entry-level salaries for specialized roles, with packages going up to ₹21 lakh. This move by the Indian IT giant aims to attract top AI talent and supports their AI-First strategy, enhancing opportunities in the Specialist Programmer track.

The company is launching an off-campus hiring drive for 2025 engineering and computer science graduates. This drive is specifically focused on recruiting talent for specialized technology roles, offering annual compensation packages ranging from ₹7 lakh to ₹21 lakh. This compensation is a notable increase for top-tier entry-level positions, especially those within the Specialist Programmer track.

In related news, Infosys plans to hire over 20,000 freshers in FY26. Alongside these hiring plans, Infosys has implemented salary hikes, averaging 5-8%. Top performers can expect to receive even higher increments, ranging from 10-12%. These hikes began rolling out in January 2025, with the remainder effective April 1, as a means to prioritize employee retention amid rising attrition.

The company's attrition rate saw a mild uptick in Q4 FY25, reaching 14.1%, compared to 13.7% in the previous quarter. This increase is driven by competition from global capability centers (GCCs) and opportunities for higher education.

Despite these positive steps, Infosys reported mixed financial results in Q4 FY25. The IT firm declared a net profit of ₹7,033 crore for the quarter ending March 2025, which is an 11.7% dip from the same period last year. However, the company exceeded its revenue guidance for the full fiscal year, registering top-line growth of between 4.5 and 5 percent. CEO and MD Salil Parekh highlighted the company's strong performance in artificial intelligence, cloud, and digital services as key factors in this resilience.

Parekh stated, "Our performance for the year has been robust in terms of revenues, expansion in operating margins and the highest ever free cash generation. Our depth in AI, cloud and digital and strength in cost efficiency, automation, and consolidation position us well for the needs of our clients". Operational efficiency and automation have been identified as crucial factors in Infosys's ability to navigate the changing industry dynamics.

Infosys's commitment to hiring and competitive compensation reflects a strategic focus on securing top talent in key technological areas. While some competitors adopt a more cautious approach to wage revisions, Infosys is moving forward with these salary increases and fresher hiring, reinforcing its dedication to growth and innovation.
