Delhi Man Strangles Wife, Commits Suicide by Jumping in Front of Train

New Delhi, December 25, 2025 – A tragic incident unfolded in Delhi today, as a 40-year-old man allegedly strangled his wife before taking his own life by jumping in front of a train in the Vivek Vihar area of East Delhi.

Police reports indicate that the incident came to light on Thursday. Preliminary investigations suggest that the man strangled his wife at their residence. Following the act, he proceeded to a nearby railway track and committed suicide.

The victim in that case was described as a social media artist with around 6,000 followers, and the couple frequently argued about her online presence.

In September 2024, another incident occurred where a 32-year-old man stabbed his brother's wife to death and subsequently jumped in front of a train. The incident took place in the Kapashera area, where the man was found seriously injured on railway tracks and admitted to Safdarjung Hospital. Investigations revealed that the accused and the victim had an illicit relationship, and a quarrel led to the fatal stabbing.

These incidents highlight a disturbing trend of domestic violence and suicide in the city. Law enforcement agencies are urging individuals facing domestic issues to seek help and counseling rather than resorting to violence or self-harm.
