According to the Hurun India Rich List 2025, her estimated net worth is ₹50,170 crore. This places her ahead of other prominent Indian-origin tech leaders such as Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
Ullal's net worth is estimated at $5.7 billion as of December 2025, according to Forbes. She holds approximately 3% of Arista Networks' shares, which are listed on the New York Stock Exchange. In comparison, Satya Nadella's net worth is around $1.1 billion, and Sundar Pichai's is approximately $1.5 billion. Earlier in 2025, Ullal was ranked second among the top five first-generation women wealth creators in the Candere Hurun India Women Leaders List.
Born in London to Indian parents on March 27, 1961, Jayshree Ullal spent her formative years in New Delhi and attended the Convent of Jesus & Mary. She moved to the United States to pursue her engineering education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from San Francisco State University in 1981. She furthered her studies and obtained a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from Santa Clara University in 1986. In recognition of her contributions to the field, she was awarded an honorary doctorate in engineering in 2025.
Ullal's career spans over three decades in Silicon Valley. She began in the semiconductor industry, holding positions at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Fairchild Semiconductor. She then served as Vice President of Marketing at Crescendo Communications. Cisco Systems acquired Crescendo in 1993, marking Cisco's entry into the switching market. At Cisco, Ullal played a significant role in scaling the switching division, which became a core business, before leaving in 2008. During her 15-year tenure at Cisco, she oversaw approximately 20 mergers and acquisitions in the enterprise sector and eventually became Senior Vice President of Data Center & Switching.
In October 2008, Ullal joined Arista Networks as CEO and President, when the company had fewer than 30 employees and operated from a law firm's basement. Under her leadership, Arista Networks has become a leading provider of cloud networking solutions. Arista designs and sells high-performance, software-driven switches and networking solutions for large data centers, cloud service providers, and enterprise environments. In 2024, Arista reported revenues of $7 billion, a nearly 20% increase from the previous year. Forbes reported that Arista posted revenues of $7 billion in 2024. Ullal was named one of Barron's "World's Best CEOs" in 2018 and one of Fortune's "Top 20 Business persons" in 2019. She also serves on the board of directors of Snowflake, a cloud computing company.
