The makers of the highly anticipated film "Border 2" have released "Ghar Kab Aaoge," a reimagining of the iconic song "Sandese Aate Hai" from the original 1997 film, on January 2, 2026. The new song features Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh, with a brief appearance by Ahan Shetty.
The launch event took place in Longewala-Tanot, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, in the presence of Border Security Force (BSF) jawans. The original "Sandese Aate Hain," sung by Sonu Nigam and Roop Kumar Rathod, captured the pain and longing of soldiers, becoming a defining patriotic anthem.
"Ghar Kab Aaoge" aims to evoke similar emotions while giving a modern touch to the classic. The recreated version is sung by Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Roop Kumar Rathod, Vishal Mishra, and Diljit Dosanjh, with music recreated by Mithoon and additional lyrics by Manoj Muntashir.
The video captures emotional moments with Varun Dhawan seen reading a letter from home and energizing his unit with a dance. Diljit Dosanjh is also shown sharing a similar moment with his Air Force unit, while Sunny Deol's character is presented in a more melancholic light, reading the letter with tears. The video also includes glimpses of the actors with their respective partners in the film: Sunny Deol with Mona Singh, Diljit Dosanjh with Sonam Bajwa, Varun Dhawan with Medha Rana, and Ahan Shetty with Anya Singh.
"Border 2," directed by Anurag Singh, is set to release on January 23, 2026, coinciding with the Republic Day weekend. The film boasts a strong ensemble cast, including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, and Medha Rana.
