Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 aims to recapture the spirit of patriotism and sacrifice, focusing on untold stories from the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The film boasts a blend of returning stars and fresh faces, promising a mix of nostalgia and contemporary storytelling.
The Cast and Their Roles:
- Sunny Deol as Lt Col Fateh Singh Kaler: Deol reprises his role from the prequel, portraying an Indian Army officer from the Sikh Regiment, inspired by Hardev Singh Kaler. Reportedly, Deol is the highest-paid actor in the film, charging ₹50 crore.
- Varun Dhawan as Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, PVC: Dhawan takes on the role of an officer from the 3 Grenadiers. Sources suggest that Dhawan met with Indian Army officers to understand their lives better for this role. He is said to be earning between ₹8 crore and ₹10 crore for his role. His character's introduction will feature a massive action sequence.
- Diljit Dosanjh as Fg Offr Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, PVC: Dosanjh portrays an Indian Air Force officer from No. 18 Squadron.
