Malavika Mohanan has been incredibly busy, juggling roles in three contrasting films: the espionage thriller Sardar 2 with Karthi, the slice-of-life drama Hridayapoorvam co-starring Mohanlal, and the horror-comedy The Raja Saab alongside Prabhas. In a recent interview with Galatta Plus, Mohanan discussed the challenges of working on such diverse projects simultaneously.

"Hridayapoorvam has already been released in theaters, while Sardar 2 and The Raja Saab are still awaiting their theatrical releases. Mohanan said that she focused on finding the specific character and staying authentic to that character in each film. She was also conscious of not drastically altering her acting style simply because the genres differed. According to Mohanan, she avoided being "loud for the sake of it" just because a film's genre might suggest it."

Her performance in Hridayapoorvam, directed by Sathyan Anthikad, has garnered significant critical acclaim, particularly for her portrayal of a single woman coping with the loss of her father. Avinash Ramachandran noted that Mohanan's performance in Hridayapoorvam was a revelation, demonstrating how a well-suited character under a brilliant filmmaker can reshape perceptions of an actor's abilities.

The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, is slated to hit theaters soon. Meanwhile, production for Sardar 2, directed by PS Mithran and starring Karthi, has wrapped up, though an official release date is still pending. Mohanan has described working on Sardar 2 as a "mad ride".
