Mithoon Recreates "Ghar Kab Aaoge" with Five Voices, Aiming for a Magical Border 2 Anthem.

The highly anticipated track "Ghar Kab Aaoge" from the upcoming film Border 2 has been released, and it's already generating buzz for its unique collaboration of voices. The song features Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Vishal Mishra, and Diljit Dosanjh, who have come together to recreate the magic of the original "Sandese Aate Hai" from the 1997 film Border.

The new version of the song, while retaining the emotional core of the original, brings a contemporary touch to resonate with modern audiences. The music is credited to Anu Malik and Mithoon, while the lyrics are penned by Javed Akhtar and Manoj Muntashir Shukla. The song was launched at a grand event at Longewala-Tanot, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

Producer Nidhi Dutta expressed her thoughts on X (formerly Twitter) about the song. She mentioned that the new version is not meant to change the original, but to add more stories of soldiers and their families longing for them to come home. She emphasized that the same emotions and lyrics are there, echoing the heartache of new characters, but with the same immortal melody.

According to Anu Malik, the blend of Sonu Nigam and Arijit Singh's voices in "Ghar Kab Aaoge" is brilliant because Sonu is a fabulous singer, and Arijit is a magical singer.

Border 2 is the second installment in the war drama franchise that began with J.P. Dutta's Border in 1997. The new film is directed by Anurag Singh and stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh in key roles. The film also features Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh, and Medha Rana. Border 2 is presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series, in association with J.P. Dutta's J.P. Films, and is backed by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta. The film is slated to release in theaters on January 23, 2026.
