Halle Berry and Van Hunt Engagement Confirmed: Actress Shows Off Ring, Hints at Proposal.

Halle Berry has confirmed her engagement to long-time partner Van Hunt. The Oscar-winning actress clarified the news during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Berry addressed speculation about their relationship status, setting the record straight regarding rumors that she had turned down a proposal from Hunt.

“Well, there's some confusion that Van asked to marry me, and I said no. No, that's not the case,” Berry explained. She affirmed that she did not reject a proposal, clarifying, "I did not say no. We just don't have a date". Berry then excitedly confirmed that she and Hunt are engaged, stating, “But, of course, I said I would marry him,” and adding, “He did put a little ring on it”.

During the interview with Jimmy Fallon, Berry offered a glimpse of her engagement ring, which features a large, round center stone. However, details regarding the proposal itself, including when and how it occurred, were not disclosed. Jewelry experts estimate the ring could be worth upwards of $200,000, featuring multiple diamonds and a unique, deeply personal design. The ring has a square-cut design, checkered accents, and sits on a large gold band.

Berry, 59, and Hunt, 55, have been together since April 2020. Over the years, the couple has openly discussed their feelings that marriage isn't necessary to validate their relationship. Back in June, Hunt mentioned in an interview that he had already proposed but that the proposal was "still on hold". Berry, who has been married three times, expressed that they didn't feel pressured to marry, but it was something they would like to do. She also stated that Hunt is the person she should have married out of everyone she has been with.

Berry has been married three times previously, to David Justice, Eric Benét, and Olivier Martinez. Her divorce from Martinez was finalized in 2016, and they share a 12-year-old son, Maceo. Berry is also mother to a 17-year-old daughter, Nahla, from a previous relationship with Canadian model Gabriel Aubry.

The engagement news coincides with Berry promoting her upcoming film, Crime 101, a crime thriller with Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo, set to release on February 13.
