Brentford's Last-Minute Goal Shocks Newcastle in Thrilling Match: A Dramatic Football Encounter.

Newcastle United suffered a heartbreaking defeat at St. James' Park, falling 3-2 to Brentford after a late goal from Dango Ouattara. The loss extends Newcastle's winless run in the Premier League to four games and marks their third consecutive defeat. Brentford, on the other hand, secured their first win at Newcastle since 1939.

The match began with Newcastle taking the lead in the 24th minute when Sven Botman headed home from a Bruno Guimarães corner. It was Botman's 100th appearance for Newcastle. Newcastle had several opportunities to extend their lead, with Harvey Barnes and Sandro Tonali going close, but they failed to capitalize. Brentford grew into the game and Mathias Jensen tested Nick Pope with a 20-yard strike.

Brentford equalized in the 37th minute through Vitaly Janelt, who headed in a cross from Ouattara. Just before halftime, Brentford were awarded a penalty after Jacob Murphy was adjudged to have handled Jensen's shot. Igor Thiago converted the penalty, sending Pope the wrong way to give Brentford a 2-1 lead.

In the second half, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe made two changes, bringing on Anthony Elanga and Nick Woltemade in place of Murphy and Joe Willock. Newcastle pushed for an equalizer, and they were awarded a penalty in the 79th minute when Bruno Guimarães was fouled by Michael Kayode. Guimarães himself took the penalty and scored, leveling the score at 2-2.

However, Brentford were not to be denied, and in the 86th minute, Ouattara scored the winning goal with a low drive that Pope could not stop. The Newcastle defense was caught out, with Kieran Trippier being left wrong-footed by Ouattara. Despite nine minutes of stoppage time, Newcastle were unable to find another equalizer, and the match ended 3-2 in favor of Brentford.

The result sees Brentford move up to seventh in the Premier League table, level on points with Liverpool. Newcastle, meanwhile, drop to 12th. After the match, Howe expressed his disappointment with the result, particularly the "really disappointing third goal". He also acknowledged the fans' frustration, stating that the boos at halftime "comes with the territory" when the team isn't performing to expectations. Ouattara was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance, which included a goal and an assist.
