Patna, February 9, 2026 – Tej Pratap Yadav, the national president of Janshakti Janta Dal (JJD) and the elder son of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, has vehemently refuted rumors circulating on social media claiming he has fathered a child. Yadav, who was expelled from the RJD party after a prior related incident, addressed the issue at a press conference, calling the allegations "completely false and baseless" and alleging a conspiracy against him.
"I reject this [blessed with a child] claim," Tej Pratap told ANI, stating, "This is a conspiracy hatched by Mukesh Roshan and all these 'Jaichands' in collusion to defame me". He further demanded an investigation into the identity of Akash Bhati and his relationship with the woman involved in the rumors.
Yadav expressed distress over the rumors, which link him to a woman with whom he was "falsely" associated months ago. He warned that he would take the matter to court and would not spare those responsible for spreading what he considers a defamation campaign. "False rumours are being spread about me. I will take this matter to court. I will not spare these traitors," he asserted.
In a dramatic turn, Yadav accused five individuals, labeling them as "Jaichands" (traitors), for allegedly orchestrating the rumor campaign. He specifically named Mukesh Roshan, a former Mahua MLA, as "traitor number one," along with Sanjay Yadav, Ramiz, Shakti Singh, and Sunil Singh. He also implicated members of the RJD student wing in spreading misinformation. Yadav has claimed that Mukesh Roshan is running a gang against him.
Yadav also revealed the emotional toll the situation has taken on him. "I am completely depressed," he told ANI. He admitted that such allegations could push individuals into depression and even suicide and that the rumors had initially affected him emotionally. "Pura depression me hai hum," he said. However, he stated that he is now stable.
Tej Pratap was quoted by PTI, saying he was distraught at “rumours” on social media that a woman with whom I had been “falsely” linked several months ago, which resulted in my expulsion from the party, has given birth to my child.
He said that if there was any truth to the rumors, he would have shared the information himself on social media. He also clarified that he has no connection to the woman or children whose names have surfaced.
Yadav stated he had sought security from Bihar Home Minister Samrat Choudhary and would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi if required. He believes that there are attempts to push him into depression through sustained defamation and pressure.
