Govinda Alleges Home Besieged By 22 Men At 3 AM; Claims Mumbai Police Ignored Distress Calls.

In a startling revelation, Bollywood actor Govinda has claimed that a group of 22-23 men besieged his Mumbai residence at approximately 3 AM. The actor stated that when he attempted to contact the Mumbai Police for assistance, his calls went unanswered.

Govinda recounted the events of that night, stating he noticed the group approaching his home and, sensing something was amiss, began recording them. "There were 22-23 people. I saw them coming in luckily. I first thought they're here for a party, but they didn't seem like party people. So I captured their video," Govinda said. He added that some of the men had even climbed onto his terrace, raising his suspicions further.

Unable to reach the Mumbai Police, Govinda claims he contacted law enforcement in another country, asking them to remain on the line. He then retrieved his licensed gun and confronted the group, asking them to identify themselves. "They'd started surrounding me. In the meantime, I called up and informed everybody. I have a licensed gun, so I took it out," the actor told ANI.

Govinda's manager, Shashi Sinha, has corroborated the actor's account, stating that the incident occurred around 3-3:30 AM. Sinha also revealed that Govinda has been receiving death threats and that a formal police complaint (FIR) has been filed regarding the incident. He expressed gratitude that Govinda had a gun with him that night, stating, "Thank God he had a gun with him the day he got attacked. He chased everyone away. Otherwise God knows what would've happened to him". Sinha also mentioned possessing video footage of the incident.

The incident has brought renewed attention to a previous episode in October 2024, when Govinda was hospitalized after accidentally shooting himself in the foot while cleaning his licensed gun. Police at the time ruled it as an accident.

The recent claims of threat calls and the alleged attempted intrusion have heightened concerns about the actor's safety. The incident also raises questions about security measures for celebrities in India and the potential dangers they face. Govinda, reflecting on the incident, stated that he chose not to dwell on it, saying, "That's a waste of time. People divert your energy into thinking about all that". He emphasized the importance of an actor focusing on their craft rather than reacting to everything.
