Bollywood Star Ranveer Singh Faces Credible Threat: Security Increased Amidst Growing Concerns for his Safety.

Mumbai, February 10, 2026 – Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has received a threat via a WhatsApp voice note, prompting increased security measures around his residence. The threat comes shortly after a shooting incident outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty's home, raising concerns about the safety of individuals in the entertainment industry.

According to police reports, the "Dhurandhar" star received the threatening message on Monday, February 9, 2026. The message, delivered as a voice note via WhatsApp, demanded a large sum of money, reportedly "crores of rupees". Following the threat, Singh immediately contacted the Mumbai Police, who have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the sender.

Law enforcement suspects a possible connection to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, known for extortion activities. The crime branch of the Mumbai police is currently investigating the matter. Authorities are exploring all angles, including potential links between the threat to Singh and the recent firing incident at Rohit Shetty's residence.

In response to the threat, security has been heightened around Singh's residence in Central Mumbai. Besides the Mumbai police, private security guards have also been deployed at the housing society where the actor lives. However, the society's managing committee has expressed concerns regarding the presence of armed guards in common areas such as the lobby, gymnasium, and children's play area, citing safety and comfort issues for other residents. They have approached the police with their concerns.

The investigation into the Rohit Shetty shooting has revealed that the vehicle used in the crime was purchased from a man in Pune and then left in the Juhu area of Mumbai. According to the Crime Branch, the individuals involved in purchasing the vehicle were unaware of the shooter's identity, who was instructed to retrieve the vehicle and carry out the shooting. Police have indicated that previous crimes have shown a similar pattern, where smaller groups are hired without knowledge of each other to maintain operational security.

While the investigation is ongoing, no formal complaint has been filed by Ranveer Singh or his team as of yet. The actor is currently preparing for the release of "Dhurandhar 2", the sequel to his 2025 hit, scheduled to hit screens on March 19, 2026.
