The Milwaukee Brewers secured a 6-5 victory over the Miami Marlins on Friday night, with key contributions from Jackson Chourio and a strong performance from their bullpen. Christian Yelich scored the go-ahead run in the eighth inning, driven in by a double from Chourio.

Yelich, who spent the first five seasons of his career with the Marlins, singled to lead off the eighth inning against Cade Gibson. Chourio then delivered a crucial hit, driving Yelich home from first base and helping the Brewers win for the 10th time in 14 games.

While Chourio went 1-3 in the Brewers' previous game against the Mets, he also struck out twice. Overall, Chourio is batting .253 from the third spot in the lineup, with 14 home runs and 51 RBIs on the season. He currently has a two-game hitting streak, batting .250 with a home run, two walks, and an RBI in his last five games.

Aaron Ashby was instrumental in the win, retiring all seven batters he faced out of the bullpen. Trevor Megill secured his 19th save in 22 opportunities, despite allowing a two-out single to Xavier Edwards and a nine-pitch walk to Jesús Sánchez. Megill struck out Otto Lopez to end the game.

The Brewers' offense also saw contributions from Caleb Durbin, who had an RBI single in the third inning. Durbin later scored on a two-run single by Joey Ortiz, giving Milwaukee a 5-2 lead.

Milwaukee is currently holding the second spot in the NL Central, four games behind the division-leading Cubs and 1.5 games ahead of the Cardinals. As they approach the All-Star Break, Chourio is considered a key building block for the team's future. The Brewers have been strong on the basepaths this season, ranking third in the majors in stolen bases with 99. Four players have double-figure stolen base totals: Brice Turang, Sal Frelick, Jackson Chourio, and Christian Yelich.
