Ranbir Kapoor has recently addressed the long-standing public perception of him as a "cheater" and "Casanova," labels that have followed him since his earlier relationships with Bollywood actresses Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif. In a candid conversation on Nikhil Kamath's podcast "People by WTF," Kapoor opened up about how these relationships shaped his image and personal life.

Kapoor acknowledged that dating "two very successful actresses" became a significant part of his identity. He admitted, "I got the tag of being a Casanova and a cheater. I have lived with the label of being a cheater for a very large part of my life. I am still living with it". He was responding to years of public scrutiny that followed his breakups with Padukone and Kaif, relationships that garnered substantial media attention.

The actor, now married to Alia Bhatt, suggested that the "cheater" label wasn't "entirely true". He expressed that the complete story remained unknown to the public, and he preferred not to discuss such private matters openly to protect the privacy of those involved. Kapoor added that while he doesn't dwell on the labels, he was concerned about how it might have affected his parents, Rishi and Neetu Kapoor. However, he later realized that they were not as bothered by it as he initially thought.

Notably, Deepika Padukone had alluded to infidelity during her relationship with Ranbir Kapoor on an earlier episode of "Koffee With Karan". In an old interview with Verve magazine, she openly stated that she had never cheated in a relationship and that she associated emotions with sex, not just physicality.

During the podcast, Kapoor also shared insights into his personal life, including his bond with his daughter, Raha, and his relationship with his late father, Rishi Kapoor. Describing fatherhood, he said, "It's like someone has taken your heart out and put it in your hands," and he spoke of the joy he finds in his connection with Raha. He characterized his father as a "short-tempered man, but a very good man," reflecting on the complexities of their relationship.

Kapoor also touched upon his experiences with therapy, admitting that he finds it challenging to open himself up and express his emotions. "I've tried therapy. It's not that I'm against it, it's just that I have to open myself up. And I'm very scared of opening myself up," he confessed.
