A recently freed Khalistani terrorist, Inderjeet Singh Gosal, has issued threats against India and specifically targeted National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval. Gosal, associated with the banned Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), made these statements shortly after being released on bail in Canada.

Gosal was granted bail from the Ontario Central East Correctional Centre within a week of his arrest on September 19, 2025. He was arrested along with two others, Arman Singh and Jagdeep Singh, during a traffic stop. Following his release, a video surfaced showing Gosal declaring his support for Gurpatwant Singh Pannun and the Khalistan movement, vowing to organize a Khalistan referendum on November 23, 2025, and proclaiming, "Delhi banega Khalistan".

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the leader of the SFJ, also appeared in the video and directly threatened NSA Ajit Doval, challenging him to come to Canada, the United States, or any European country to attempt his arrest or extradition. Pannun, who India has designated as an "individual terrorist," faces multiple terror charges in India.

Gosal's arrest occurred after a meeting between NSA Ajit Doval and his Canadian counterpart, Nathalie G Drouin, signaling a potential thaw in relations between the two countries. Gosal was arrested on firearms charges in Ontario and is considered an associate of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Khalistani terrorist who was killed in British Columbia in June 2023. Nijjar's death previously led to a diplomatic dispute after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged Indian involvement, a claim India has dismissed.

Gosal has claimed that Canadian police warned him of threats to his life from Indian government agents. He was previously arrested in November 2024 after an altercation.
