India's AgXelerate Platform: Connecting Agri-Innovators to Global Markets, Boosting Agricultural Innovation and International Collaboration.

New Delhi, October 15, 2025 – India has launched the Global AgXelerate platform to connect agricultural innovators with international markets, positioning itself as a critical hub in the global agri-innovation network. The cross-border platform aims to foster collaboration and facilitate the exchange of technology, regulatory knowledge, and investment support for innovators and farmers.

AgXelerate was launched by AgVaya and BioSTL, with support from the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) and the Federation of Seed Industry of India (FSII). The platform seeks to link startups, incubators, and investors from the U.S., Brazil, the U.K., the Netherlands, Israel, Argentina, and Australia, creating market pathways for science-based solutions in regenerative agriculture.

The launch comes at a time when global agricultural trade is facing renewed headwinds, with recent tariff adjustments sparking debates on supply chains, market access, and sustainability. Global agricultural markets are projected to reach $12 trillion by 2033, driven by regenerative agriculture, agri-biotech, and precision-farming innovations.

Donn Rubin, CEO and President of BioSTL, emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between scientific innovation and commercial access. He noted that while scientific innovation is happening globally, commercial access and scale-up remain fragmented. Rubin stated that AgXelerate aims to connect India's dynamic agricultural ecosystem with St Louis's innovation hub, building bridges between innovators, investors, and farmers.

Ram Kaundinya, Partner at AgVaya LLP and Adviser at FSII, highlighted the platform's role in enabling a two-way flow of technology. He said that AgXelerate is designed to build bridges between science, startups, and scale, bringing cutting-edge global innovations to Indian farmers while also taking Indian technologies and agri-solutions to international markets.

With over 150 million smallholders and an agritech sector that has attracted $2.5 billion in funding since 2020, India is emerging as a key hub for global agri-innovation. The AgXelerate program aligns with industry priorities, ensuring maximum relevance and impact by connecting startups directly with producers through field trips and industry connections, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. The program also provides a tailored capacity-building component that caters to the specific needs of each participating company.

The AgXelerate Program consists of two cohorts, addressing different Technology Readiness Levels (TRL). The first cohort focuses on TRL 1-5, while the second cohort centers around TRL 5-9. These cohorts run simultaneously, maximizing the learning and growth opportunities for participants.
