Apple has launched its new iPad Pro in India, featuring the powerful M5 chip. The new iPad Pro with M5 is currently available for pre-order and will be available to customers beginning October 22.
Pricing and Availability
The 11-inch iPad Pro starts at ₹99,900 for the Wi-Fi model and ₹1,19,900 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model. The 13-inch iPad Pro starts at ₹1,29,900 for the Wi-Fi model and ₹1,49,900 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model. Both models are available in silver and space black finishes with 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB storage options.
Customers can pre-order the new iPad Pro on apple.com/in/store and in the Apple Store app. The devices will begin arriving to customers and will also be available in Apple Store locations and Apple Authorized Resellers starting October 22.
Education pricing is also available. The 11-inch iPad Pro starts at ₹89,900, and the 13-inch iPad Pro starts at ₹1,09,900 with education savings.
M5 Chip: A Leap in Performance and AI
The highlight of the new iPad Pro is the M5 chip, which Apple says delivers the most advanced iPad experience ever with incredible power and AI performance. The M5 features a next-generation GPU with a Neural Accelerator in each core. This design significantly boosts performance for iPad Pro users, especially for visually intensive applications, gaming, and AI-driven tasks.
Apple claims the M5 delivers up to 3.5x faster AI performance than the M4 chip and up to 5.6x faster AI performance than the M1 chip. The 10-core GPU introduces a new architecture with a Neural Accelerator in each core, resulting in a massive boost in GPU performance for AI workloads. The M5 has up to a 10-core CPU, with four performance cores and six efficiency cores, and is the world's fastest CPU core. The new iPad Pro has up to 1.5x faster 3D rendering with ray tracing than the previous-generation iPad Pro and up to 6.7x faster rendering performance than iPad Pro with M1.
Design and Display
Despite the power boost, Apple has made the new iPad Pro thinner than ever. The 11-inch model is just 5.3 mm thin, and the 13-inch model is a mere 5.1 mm, making it Apple's slimmest device to date. The new iPad Pro models feature an Ultra Retina XDR display with exceptional contrast, ProMotion support, and up to 1000 nits of full-screen brightness.
Other Features
The new iPad Pro also includes Apple's N1, a new Apple-designed wireless networking chip, enabling the latest generation of wireless technologies with support for Wi-Fi 7.
The new iPad Pro is compatible with the Apple Pencil Pro (₹11,900) and Apple Pencil (USB-C) (₹7,900). The Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro is available in black and white finishes, with the 11-inch version priced at ₹29,900 and the 13-inch version at ₹33,900.
