Following the launch of Operation Sindoor by the Indian government, Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra Group, voiced his support for the Indian Armed Forces. Mahindra conveyed a message of solidarity on social media, emphasizing national unity.
Operation Sindoor was launched by the Indian Armed Forces, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. This operation was a response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22, in which 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali citizen were killed. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) stated that the operation targeted nine sites and was focused, measured, and non-escalatory, with no Pakistani military facilities targeted. The ministry further emphasized that India demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and method of execution.
Anand Mahindra posted on X (formerly Twitter): "Our prayers are with our forces… One nation…Together we Stand," along with a graphic of Operation Sindoor. Many other Indians also took to social media to express their opinions regarding Operation Sindoor.
According to sources, the Indian Armed Forces successfully struck nine terror targets, four in Pakistan, including Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Sialkot, and five in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), using special precision munitions in a coordinated operation. The operation was jointly carried out by the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, with the mobilization of assets and troops. Sources also confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was constantly monitoring Operation Sindoor throughout the night. The targeted locations were selected to strike top Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) leaders involved in sponsoring terrorist activities in India.
The victims of the Pahalgam terror attack were reportedly asked to identify with names before being killed. "Operation Sindoor" is ostensibly a reference to only men being singled out based on their faith before being killed in Pahalgam.
The wife of Shubham Dwivedi, who was killed in the Pahalgam attack, thanked PM Modi for "taking revenge" for her husband's death, calling it a "real tribute" to her husband.
Following Operation Sindoor, numerous reports indicated the closure of 20 Indian airports until Saturday morning, with international airlines also avoiding Pakistani airspace.
