Allu Arjun is reportedly set to star in an upcoming action drama, tentatively titled AA22 x A6, where he may portray a warrior. This project marks a collaboration between the Telugu superstar and acclaimed director Atlee, known for his blockbuster hits like "Jawan".

The film, produced by Sun Pictures, is generating considerable buzz, with reports suggesting it will be a high-budget, visually stunning spectacle. Initial reports indicated that the story was originally written for Bollywood megastar Salman Khan, but Allu Arjun was later chosen due to budget considerations and his rising pan-Indian appeal following the success of "Pushpa 2".

AA22 x A6 is touted to be a groundbreaking sci-fi action thriller, a genre relatively unexplored in Indian cinema. Some reports suggest the film will be set in a parallel universe. The production team reportedly visited VFX studios in Los Angeles, indicating a commitment to cutting-edge visual effects. The film has onboarded some of the world's top VFX companies, including Lola VFX, with visual experts who have previously worked on major Hollywood productions such as "Avengers," "Avatar," "Spider-Man," "Iron Man," and "Black Panther". These experts have reportedly praised the film's script as "mindblowing" and "the best of the best".

The movie is said to be the highest-budget film of Allu Arjun's career. Some reports suggest a budget of ₹800 crore (approximately $96 million USD), with a significant portion allocated to VFX. Allu Arjun's remuneration is rumored to be ₹175 crore (approximately $21 million USD), plus 15% of the profits, while Atlee's fee is said to be ₹100 crore (approximately $12 million USD).

The film is expected to have a global appeal, with production spanning across India and the U.S. Pre-production is reportedly underway, with filming expected to commence in mid-2025 and a potential release in 2026 or 2027.

Adding to the anticipation, there are speculations that Allu Arjun might play a dual role in the film, following Atlee's signature style of showcasing his lead actors in multiple characters, as seen in films like "Mersal," "Bigil," and "Jawan". There are also rumors of Janhvi Kapoor potentially playing one of the three female lead roles.

While details about the plot remain under wraps, Atlee has described the film as his dream project, crafted to move and entertain audiences worldwide. He stated that the film is "mass at its core and magical in its storytelling".

In related news, Aamir Khan is reportedly considering Allu Arjun for the role of Arjuna in his adaptation of the Mahabharata, recognizing his pan-Indian appeal and box office potential. However, it remains to be seen whether Allu Arjun will be interested in the role.

Allu Arjun was last seen in "Pushpa 2: The Rule," which was released on December 5, 2024 and received positive reviews. The film reportedly grossed over ₹1,642 crore (US$190 million), becoming the highest-grossing film in India.
