A top operative of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Razullah Nizamani, also known as Abu Saifullah Khalid, has been shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Pakistan's Sindh province. The incident occurred on Sunday, May 18, 2025, and marks a significant blow to the terror outfit. Nizamani was a key figure in LeT, allegedly masterminding several high-profile terror attacks in India.
According to reports, Nizamani was killed in the Matli area of Sindh province. He was reportedly shot by unknown assailants while near a crossing not far from his residence. Sources indicate that Nizamani had been provided security by the Pakistani government and had been instructed to limit his movements. However, he was targeted as he stepped out of his house.
Nizamani is alleged to have been the mastermind behind the 2006 attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Nagpur. In addition to the RSS headquarters attack, Nizamani was implicated in the 2005 attack on the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru and the 2001 terror strike on a CRPF camp in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, which resulted in the death of seven personnel.
Prior to relocating to Pakistan's Sindh province, Nizamani reportedly lived under a false identity in Nepal, using the alias Vinode Kumar. While in Nepal, he was allegedly involved with LeT's Nepal module, handling financing, recruitment, and logistics. He is also said to have facilitated the movement of LeT operatives into India through the Indo-Nepal border, working closely with other LeT members.
Following his return from Kashmir, he was given the title 'Gazi' by Lashkar-e-Taiba. Intelligence sources indicated that Nizamani had been instructed not to venture far from his residence.
The killing of Nizamani follows recent reports of India's "Operation Sindoor," during which targeted strikes were conducted on terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir on May 7, 2025. India claimed that over 100 terrorists, including members of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, were killed in these strikes.
