Anita Verma-Lallian is an Indian-American entrepreneur making significant strides in real estate and film production. Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, she is the CEO and Founder of Arizona Land Consulting (ALC), a commercial real estate firm specializing in land acquisitions and development. Verma-Lallian is also the founder of Camelback Productions, a film production company dedicated to increasing South Asian representation in cinema. Her recent involvement in a \$51 million data center land deal in Arizona, backed by Silicon Valley venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya, has further highlighted her growing influence in the AI infrastructure sector.
Verma-Lallian's journey began in her family's business, Vermaland, one of Arizona's largest land banking firms, founded by her parents, Kuldip and Binu Verma, who immigrated from India. Her early exposure to the real estate industry, working alongside her father from a young age, instilled in her a deep understanding of land development and investment. She officially joined Vermaland at 18, working in accounting and leasing. Building upon this foundation, she co-founded Equity Land Group in 2019, focusing on land development and investment. In 2020, she launched Arizona Land Consulting, providing concierge services for land seekers and developers. ALC quickly gained recognition for its expertise in sustainable expansion in the Greater Phoenix area.
In May 2025, Arizona Land Consulting, under Verma-Lallian's leadership, acquired approximately 2,000 acres of land in Buckeye, Arizona, with plans to develop a 1.5GW data center. The \$51 million deal, supported by Chamath Palihapitiya, signifies Arizona's growing importance as a hub for AI and advanced computing infrastructure. The land is strategically located near Bill Gates' proposed "smart city," Belmont. Verma-Lallian estimates the full build-out of the data center could cost \$25 billion. This acquisition is not the first of its kind for ALC. In 2024, the company sold a 2,069-acre parcel to data center developer Tract for over \$136 million, having purchased it for \$40 million in 2022.
Beyond real estate, Verma-Lallian is committed to promoting South Asian representation in the film industry. In 2023, she founded Camelback Productions, Arizona's first female- and South Asian-owned film production company. Her goal is to create compelling stories that resonate with global audiences and showcase the diversity of South Asian culture.
Verma-Lallian holds an MBA from the University of Southern California (2007) and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arizona (2004). She has received several accolades, including being named a "Dynamic Woman" by Modern Luxury in 2021 and "Global Real Estate Leader of the Year" by the Global Chamber of Phoenix in 2018 and 2019. She has also been recognized among the "Most Influential Women in Commercial Real Estate" by AZ Business Magazine.
In late 2024, Verma-Lallian garnered media attention for purchasing the Los Angeles home of the late actor Matthew Perry for \$8.55 million. She honored Perry's memory with a traditional Hindu blessing ceremony, reflecting her commitment to her cultural values and philanthropy. Verma-Lallian also co-founded the Verma Charitable Foundation with her sister, Jennifer, which supports underprivileged students in India and aims to establish a cultural center in Phoenix.
