Ayodhya witnessed a spiritually charged atmosphere as the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Shri Ram Darbar and other deities concluded at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple today, June 5, 2025. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath graced the occasion with his presence, adding to the event's significance.
The consecration ceremony marked the culmination of a three-day ritual that commenced on June 3, 2025, filled with traditional observances. These included adhivas, parikrama of utsav vigrahas, and ceremonial havans, creating an atmosphere of devotion throughout Ayodhya. Vedic chants, the blowing of conch shells, and the recitation of mantras by Acharyas resonated across the city, amplifying the spiritual ambiance.
The rituals on the final day began early at 6:30 am with the worship of deities at the Yagya Mandap, followed by a havan at 9 am. The ceremony incorporated audio-visual technology to connect multiple shrines, enabling simultaneous consecration in accordance with Vedic muhurta. Deities consecrated included Shri Ram Darbar, Sheshavatar, Shiva, Ganesh Ji, Hanuman Ji, Surya Dev, Maa Bhagwati, and Annapurna Mata. The event concluded with a special Aarti and Bhandara, attended by saints, scholars, Trust officials, and thousands of devotees.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed the profound spiritual significance of the event, describing it as a reflection of "Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat" on social media. He also offered prayers and participated in the rituals of Ram Darbar on the first floor of the temple. The Chief Minister's presence coincided with his 53rd birthday, for which he sought blessings from Lord Shri Ram.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, responsible for the construction of the Ram Temple, had completed preparations for the event, which was attended by several VVIPs. The celebrations also coincided with Ganga Dussehra, a sacred occasion commemorating the descent of the river Ganga to Earth. CM Adityanath extended his greetings to the people of Uttar Pradesh on this auspicious day.
This Pran Pratishtha ceremony is the second major consecration at the Ayodhya Ram Temple, following its inauguration in January 2024, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi led key rituals. The current ceremony involved the consecration of idols in the Ram Darbar and seven other temples located within the parikote (ramparts). The trust has constructed eight new Devalayas within the Mandir Complex, each enshrining a vigraha of revered Shastriya Devtas.
Currently, officials are discussing guidelines for opening these newly inaugurated temples to the public. Access to the Shri Ram Darbar on the first floor may be restricted, with a limited number of devotees permitted per hour through issued passes.
