Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra is making headlines once again, this time for a joyous occasion. News outlets are buzzing about a video she recently shared, showcasing a delightful wedding dance with her husband, Pinaki Misra. The wedding, a private affair, reportedly took place in Germany on May 30, 2025, although some sources mention May 3.

The confirmation of the marriage came earlier this week when Moitra posted a photo on X (formerly Twitter) of herself and Misra cutting their wedding cake. She expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of love and good wishes they received. Although details about the ceremony were initially scarce, a photograph surfaced online, depicting Moitra radiant in gold jewelry and traditional attire, standing alongside Misra.

While a video of the dance is yet to be widely available, the news of the celebration has created a buzz, with many congratulating the couple on social media. Fellow TMC leaders, including Abhishek Banerjee and Saayoni Ghosh, extended their heartfelt congratulations and wished them a lifetime of happiness.

This marks a new chapter for both Moitra and Misra. Moitra, a two-time Lok Sabha MP from Krishnanagar in West Bengal, has had a notable career both as an investment banker and a politician. She entered politics with the Indian Youth Congress before joining TMC in 2010. She was previously married to Danish financier Lars Brorson. Misra, a senior advocate in the Supreme Court, is a veteran politician himself, having served multiple terms as a BJD MP from Puri, Odisha. He has a son and a daughter from his previous marriage.

The wedding comes after a tumultuous period for Moitra, who faced expulsion from the Lok Sabha in December 2023 following allegations of accepting cash and gifts in exchange for raising questions in Parliament. She has consistently denied these charges, and she was re-elected from Krishnanagar in 2024.

Moitra's political journey has been marked by both impressive achievements and controversies. Before entering politics, she worked as an investment banker at JP Morgan in New York and London. Her political career took off after joining the TMC, and she quickly gained recognition for her articulate speeches and strong stance on various issues. Despite facing criticism and challenges, she has remained a prominent and outspoken voice in Indian politics. Pinaki Misra also faced allegations in the cash for query scandal, though he dismissed them outright.

The intimate wedding in Germany seems to signify a fresh start for the couple. The celebration, away from the intense glare of Indian politics, allowed them to share their joy with close family and friends. As the video of their wedding dance makes its way around social media, it offers a glimpse into a more personal side of the firebrand politician, as she celebrates love and companionship with her new husband.
