A shocking incident unfolded in Delhi's Paharganj area on Sunday, June 8, 2025, as a 29-year-old woman, identified as Sarika, was found dead in a hotel bathroom. Police have arrested her partner, Sachin, 31, in connection with the murder.

According to the Delhi Police, a PCR call was received at the Nabi Karim Police Station around 9:47 AM from a staff member at a hotel on Arakashan Road. The staff reported a suspected incident involving a couple who had checked in the previous evening. Upon investigation, the male occupant, Sachin, was found to be missing, while Sarika was discovered unresponsive in the bathroom.

Authorities stated that the couple had checked into the hotel on June 7 at approximately 4:15 PM. Sachin was last seen leaving the hotel alone early on the morning of June 8. Hotel staff, concerned by his departure, entered the room and found Sarika deceased, prompting them to alert the police.

Initial inquiries revealed that the couple had ordered pizza and lassi around 6:00 PM on the day of their arrival, with the order being delivered to their room by hotel staff without incident. However, the situation took a grim turn overnight. Preliminary findings at the scene suggested that Sarika's death was due to strangulation, allegedly using a drawstring.

A police crime team was dispatched to the hotel to conduct a thorough inspection. They collected photographs and seized relevant evidence from the scene. Sarika's body has been taken into custody and preserved at the mortuary for a postmortem examination, which will determine the precise cause of death.

Police have registered a case under FIR No. 103/2025, invoking Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Nabi Karim Police Station. Sachin was apprehended, and officials have confirmed that an investigation is currently underway.

During interrogation, Sachin reportedly confessed to the crime, stating that he and Sarika were in a relationship. He suspected her of having an affair with another man, which led to a heated argument in the hotel room. The argument escalated, and he allegedly strangled her to death.

This incident has sent shockwaves through the area, highlighting concerns about safety and security in hotels. The police are continuing their investigation to gather more details about the circumstances surrounding Sarika's death and to ensure that justice is served.
