A search operation has been launched by security forces in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, following reports from villagers about the movement of suspected terrorists. According to officials, the villagers spotted two individuals in combat uniforms near a school in Nud village during the night and promptly informed the police.
Joint teams of police and army immediately cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation in the early morning hours. Authorities have stated that the operation is currently underway, but so far, there has been no trace of the suspected individuals.
The region has been on high alert, particularly after the recent terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which resulted in 26 fatalities. In response to the heightened threat, armed forces had launched Operation Sindoor, targeting nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, reportedly neutralizing nearly 100 terrorists.
Community involvement has been highlighted as crucial, with authorities encouraging local residents to report any suspicious activities. The prompt response of the villagers in reporting the suspected individuals near the school is a testament to the importance of community vigilance in maintaining security and preventing potential threats.
The search operation is ongoing as of Wednesday, and security forces are diligently working to locate the suspected terrorists. Further updates are awaited as the situation develops.
