Samsung is gearing up to launch its latest M-series smartphone, the Galaxy M36 5G, in India. The device has been officially teased on Amazon, hinting at an imminent launch, possibly by late June or early July. While the exact launch date remains under wraps, the teaser provides a glimpse of the phone's rear design and suggests a focus on AI-powered features.
The teaser image reveals that the Galaxy M36 5G will sport a triple rear camera setup, arranged vertically within a redesigned camera island. Although the specifics of the camera sensors are yet to be disclosed, the emphasis on "Monster Alcon" in the teaser tagline suggests that the device will offer enhanced AI capabilities, aligning with Samsung's broader strategy of integrating AI into its devices.
Previous leaks and reports have provided further insights into the expected specifications of the Galaxy M36 5G. The phone is rumored to feature a 6.74-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1080x2340 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of up to 1500 nits. It is expected to be powered by the Exynos 1380 SoC, the same chipset found in its predecessor, the Galaxy M35. The Exynos 1380 features four ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores clocked at 2.4GHz and four ARM Cortex-A55 CPU cores clocked at 2GHz, along with an ARM Mali-G68 GPU. The phone is likely to come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, expandable via a microSD card.
In terms of software, the Galaxy M36 5G is expected to run on Android 15-based One UI 7 out of the box. Samsung has recently started offering six major Android OS updates even for its entry-level and mid-range phones, so the Galaxy M36 will likely receive updates up to Android 21.
Other expected features include a USB Type-C port, NFC, dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and stereo speakers. The phone is also rumored to pack a 6500mAh battery with 25W fast charging, ensuring long-lasting power.
The Galaxy M36 5G is expected to be priced under Rs 25,000 in India. Given that the Galaxy M35 was launched at a starting price of Rs 19,999, the M36 could be priced around the same mark. The device will be available exclusively via Amazon in India. It's also expected to launch as the Galaxy F36 5G via Flipkart and as the Galaxy Jump 4 in South Korea, essentially the same device under different names.
With its focus on AI, enhanced camera design, and competitive pricing, the Samsung Galaxy M36 5G is poised to be a strong contender in the Indian smartphone market.
