The Kapoor and Khan families have come together in Delhi to attend the prayer meet of Sunjay Kapur, the ex-husband of actress Karisma Kapoor. Sunjay Kapur, an industrialist, passed away on June 12, 2025, in London, reportedly due to a heart attack while playing polo.

Karisma Kapoor, accompanied by her children Samaira and Kiaan, was seen arriving in Delhi to attend the prayer meeting. Following closely behind were Karisma's sister, Kareena Kapoor, and her husband, Saif Ali Khan, who also joined the family to offer their condolences. The prayer meet is scheduled to take place between 4 pm and 5 pm at the Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi.

Sunjay Kapur's passing has been a shock to his family and friends. Reports suggest that he suffered a heart attack during a polo match at the Guards Polo Club in London. Some reports indicated that a bee sting might have triggered the heart attack, but there has been no official confirmation regarding the exact cause of death.

Earlier in the week, Sunjay Kapur's last rites were held on June 19 at the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground in New Delhi. The funeral was attended by close family members and well-wishers, including Karisma Kapoor and her children, as well as Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.

Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur were married in 2003 and have two children together, Samaira and Kiaan. The couple divorced in 2016.

A statement released by Sunjay Kapur's family shared details of the funeral and prayer meet. The statement was signed by his mother, Rani Surinder Kapur, his wife Priya, and his children Safira and Azarias, in addition to Samaira and Kiaan.

Sunjay Kapur was a prominent figure in the automotive industry, serving as the chairman of Sona Comstar. He also held the position of Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Northern Region, where he oversaw operations in several states and union territories.

Several videos and images have surfaced online showing Karisma Kapoor and her children at the Mumbai airport, en route to Delhi for the prayer meet. Karisma was seen comforting her children as they made their way through the airport. Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan were also photographed at the airport, dressed in white, as they prepared to join the family in Delhi.
