The upcoming film Kuberaa, starring Nagarjuna Akkineni, Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh, is generating significant buzz ahead of its release on June 20, 2025. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, the film is a multilingual project shot simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. While the star-studded cast and Kammula's direction are key attractions, a recent revelation has added another layer of interest: the film's teaser was edited by Sushruth Chilakapati, a 25-year-old alumnus of Annapurna College of Film and Media, a film school founded by Nagarjuna's family.

Nagarjuna's connection to Annapurna College of Film and Media adds a heartwarming dimension to the Kuberaa project. The actor, upon watching the teaser for the first time, was reportedly impressed and curious about the editor's identity. He exclaimed, "Who cut this? What a fantastic cut!" He praised the teaser's finesse and storytelling rhythm, acknowledging the difficulty of crafting a compelling narrative solely through a song. Learning that Sushruth, the editor, was an alumnus of his own college, Nagarjuna was filled with pride and excitement.

Amala Akkineni, Nagarjuna's wife, also spoke fondly of Sushruth, recalling him as a gifted and focused student with a natural talent for rhythm and creative storytelling. She highlighted his graduation film, "Que Sera Sera," as a standout example of his skills, noting his intuitive understanding of characterization. Amala expressed joy in witnessing Sushruth's growth under Sekhar Kammula's mentorship and celebrated his achievements in the film industry.

Sushruth's journey exemplifies the potential of film schools like Annapurna College of Film and Media to nurture and launch young talent. His work on the Kuberaa teaser showcases his editing prowess and storytelling abilities, earning him recognition from industry veterans like Nagarjuna and Amala Akkineni. This collaboration between a seasoned actor and a young alumnus highlights the importance of mentorship and the cyclical nature of the film industry, where established figures can support and uplift the next generation of filmmakers.

Kuberaa is produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Rammohan Rao under Amigos Creations, with Devi Sri Prasad composing the music. The film has a runtime of three hours and two minutes and has been certified U/A by the censor board. The plot reportedly revolves around Nagarjuna's character as a chartered accountant and Dhanush as a beggar, with their lives intertwining in unexpected ways. The film is anticipated to be a social thriller with elements of action and drama and is expected to clash with Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par at the box office. The trailer was released online on June 14, a day ahead of the pre-release event. After its theatrical run, Kuberaa is expected to be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
