Arsenal's £9.3m Nørgaard Bid and Arrizabalaga Agreement: Gunners Strengthen Squad with Brentford and Chelsea Moves.

Arsenal are making moves in the transfer market, targeting both midfield reinforcements and a new backup goalkeeper. The Gunners have reportedly submitted an initial offer of £9.3 million for Brentford captain Christian Nørgaard, while also appearing to have finalized a deal for Chelsea's Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Nørgaard, a 31-year-old Danish international, has been a key player for Brentford, and is attracting interest from both Arsenal and Tottenham. Arsenal's interest in Nørgaard comes as they look to bolster their midfield options. With Jorginho's departure to Flamengo and Thomas Partey's future uncertain, the Gunners are looking for experienced players to add depth to their squad. Partey's contract expires at the end of June, and it seems increasingly likely that he will leave the Emirates as a free agent. Nørgaard, who signed a new two-year contract with Brentford in March, is said to be keen on a move to Arsenal, attracted by the opportunity to play Champions League football. He enjoyed a strong season for Brentford, playing 34 Premier League games and scoring five goals.

In addition to Nørgaard, Arsenal are also close to completing the signing of Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi. However, with Jorginho's exit, the need for midfield reinforcements remains. Nørgaard is viewed as a cost-effective option who can provide leadership and experience to the squad, similar to what Jorginho offered. He is considered a capable Premier League performer and a good character for the dressing room.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are also set to announce the signing of Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea. The Gunners have reportedly triggered his £5 million release clause, bringing the Spanish goalkeeper to the Emirates as a backup to David Raya. Kepa, who was once the world's most expensive goalkeeper when he joined Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao for £72 million in 2018, spent last season on loan at Bournemouth. There, he rebuilt his career after a difficult spell at Stamford Bridge.

Kepa's arrival addresses Arsenal's need for a reliable second-choice goalkeeper after Neto's return to Bournemouth following his loan spell. Kepa's experience at the highest level, including Champions League and La Liga titles with Real Madrid, makes him a valuable addition to the squad. Some have suggested that securing Arrizabalaga for such a low fee could be "the deal of the century" for Arsenal, providing strong cover for Raya. While Raya is expected to remain the first-choice goalkeeper, Kepa's presence will ensure that Arsenal have a quality option available if needed. He could make his debut as early as July during Arsenal's pre-season tour.

Arsenal are also targeting a new striker and winger this summer. Names like Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres have been linked with the club, and Mikel Arteta has expressed his desire to bring in a new striker before the team's pre-season tour in Asia.
