Following the recent attack on her husband, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan has broken her silence, expressing the profound impact the incident has had on her and their family. In the early hours of Thursday, January 16, 2025, an intruder entered their Bandra residence in Mumbai, resulting in Saif sustaining multiple stab wounds during an attempted burglary.

Kareena Kapoor recalled the terrifying ordeal, stating that she witnessed the assailant repeatedly attacking Saif. According to her statement to the Bandra Police, the intruder was aggressive. Saif was reportedly trying to protect their children, Taimur and Jehangir, during the incident. He suffered serious injuries after being stabbed six times. He was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. Doctors expect him to be discharged in two to three days.

In the wake of the attack, Kareena was left shaken. She went to her sister Karisma Kapoor's house for support.

In an official statement released shortly after the incident, Kareena's team acknowledged the attempted burglary and confirmed Saif's injuries, stating he was undergoing a procedure. The statement also conveyed that the rest of the family was safe. They requested that the media and fans be patient and refrain from further speculation, allowing the police to conduct their investigation. Saif's team also released a statement confirming the burglary attempt and his hospitalization.

In her statement to the police, Kareena mentioned that the attacker did not take any valuables, including jewelry that was in plain sight. The police have formed more than 30 teams to find the attacker.

Kareena also shared a cryptic post on social media, reflecting on the unexpected challenges life can present. It read, "You think you are smarter than most until life humbles you when it's your turn". She also released a statement requesting space for her family to heal. "It has been an incredibly challenging day for our family, and we are still trying to process the events that have unfolded. As we navigate this difficult time, I respectfully and humbly request that the media and paparazzi refrain from the relentless speculation and coverage," she stated. "While we appreciate the concern and support, the constant scrutiny and attention are not only overwhelming but also pose a significant risk to our safety. I kindly request that you respect our boundaries and give us the space we need to heal and cope as a family. I would like to thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation during this sensitive time".
