The St. Louis Blues have signed forward Nick Bjugstad to a two-year contract worth $3.5 million, carrying an average annual value of $1.75 million. The announcement was made by Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

Bjugstad, 32, is coming off a season where he played 66 regular-season games with the Utah Mammoth, recording 19 points (eight goals, 11 assists) and 16 penalty minutes.

Throughout his NHL career, the Minneapolis, Minnesota native has played 760 regular-season games, amassing 330 points (157 goals, 173 assists) and 344 penalty minutes. Bjugstad has previously played for the Florida Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Minnesota Wild, Arizona Coyotes, Edmonton Oilers, and Utah.

Bjugstad was originally drafted by the Florida Panthers in the first round (19th overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-5, 205-pound center is a veteran of 13 NHL seasons. One year prior to joining the Blues, Bjugstad had a 22-goal season with the Arizona Coyotes.

With the signing of Bjugstad, it is likely that the Blues will not be bringing back Radek Faksa, who became an unrestricted free agent on Tuesday. In addition to signing Bjugstad, the Blues traded forward Zack Bolduc to the Montreal Canadiens for defenseman Logan Mailloux.

It is anticipated that Bjugstad will take on a bottom-six role with the Blues for the 2025-26 season.
