Jarrad Branthwaite has signed a new five-year contract with Everton, committing his future to the club until June 2030. The 23-year-old defender, who joined the Toffees from Carlisle in January 2020, has become an integral part of the team, making 30 league appearances last season as Everton finished 13th in the Premier League.

Branthwaite's journey with Everton has included loan spells with Blackburn and PSV Eindhoven, which helped him develop before breaking into the first team. His impressive performances have not only solidified his place in the squad but also attracted interest from other clubs, with rumors of a potential big-money move away from Everton. However, Branthwaite has chosen to stay, signaling his belief in the club's future and his desire to be part of their long-term project.

"I'm over the moon," Branthwaite told EvertonTV. "It's been something we've been talking about since the end of the season, and to get it signed now is something I'm really excited about". He expressed his gratitude for the trust the club has placed in him and acknowledged the significant role the fans and his teammates have played in his decision. "The trust the club's put in me and how many games I've played over the past two seasons has made it quite an easy decision for me to stay and to keep progressing as a player," he said.

Everton is undergoing a period of transition, with the team set to move from Goodison Park to the new Hill Dickinson Stadium. This move, coupled with new ownership and a new manager, has created an air of excitement around the club. Branthwaite emphasized his enthusiasm for the future, stating, "Moving to the new stadium together and having that first game at home is something we're all looking forward to. We want to go again and push for a good season". He also noted the positive changes he has witnessed at Everton over the past six months, further solidifying his commitment to the club.

Branthwaite's importance to Everton was evident last season, where he formed a strong defensive partnership with James Tarkowski. Despite some key players departing after their contracts expired, securing Branthwaite's future was a priority for the Toffees. His contribution to the team's defensive stability was notable, as Everton conceded the fourth-fewest goals in the league.

Although Branthwaite received his first England call-up ahead of Euro 2024, an injury prevented him from being included in the final squad. Nevertheless, his potential remains high, and he is considered one of the Premier League's most promising young players. By signing this new contract, Jarrad Branthwaite has not only secured his future but has also demonstrated his faith in Everton's vision and ambition.
