Yashasvi Jaiswal is making waves in the ongoing Test series against England, consistently delivering impactful performances. In the second Test against England on July 2, 2025, Jaiswal played another impressive knock, further solidifying his position as a key player for India.

During the second Test, Jaiswal scored a handsome 87 runs, which led him to break a record held by Rohit Sharma. This half-century was his fifth in SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia) countries, surpassing Rohit Sharma's previous record of four 50+ scores as an opener in those nations. This achievement highlights Jaiswal's adaptability and success in diverse playing conditions.

Jaiswal's innings was characterized by his aggressive intent and ability to take on the opposition's bowling attack. He started aggressively, hitting Chris Woakes for a boundary in the very first over. Despite an early reprieve, he capitalized on the opportunity and continued to attack, particularly targeting Josh Tongue with multiple boundaries in an over. He shared an 80-run stand for the 2nd wicket alongside Karun Nair. Jaiswal's 87 included 13 fours.

This is Jaiswal's 4th fifty against England. Overall, Jaiswal has 11 Test fifties and 3 centuries, accumulating 1,990 runs in 21 matches at an average of 53.78. Against England, he boasts 904 runs at an impressive average of 82.18. In away matches, he has scored 899 runs in 11 matches, averaging 47.31 with 4 fifties and 3 centuries. Also, with his 73rd run in the innings, Jaiswal completed 4,000 runs in First-Class cricket, reaching the milestone in his 40th red-ball game.

In the first Test of the series, Jaiswal scored a fluent 101 off 159 balls. Jaiswal now has a tally of 813 runs in 10 innings against England in Tests. Jaiswal has surpassed Don Bradman for the highest Test average against England (minimum 500 runs), now being the first batter with an average of over 90 against England.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, born on December 28, 2001, made his international debut in July 2023 against the West Indies, marking the occasion with a century. He has quickly become an integral part of the Indian team across all formats. His domestic career includes playing for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. He was the highest run-scorer for India in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, amassing 391 runs at an average of 43.44.

Jaiswal's recent performances and record-breaking achievements highlight his potential to become a mainstay in the Indian batting lineup. His fearless approach, combined with his consistency, makes him a formidable opponent for any bowling attack.
