Vivianne Miedema's historic 100th international goal propelled the Netherlands to a convincing 3-0 victory over Wales in their Women's Euro 2025 debut match. The Dutch striker's achievement highlights a dominant performance by the Netherlands, while also marking a harsh lesson for tournament debutants Wales.

The Netherlands showcased their attacking prowess early in the game, with Jill Roord's long-range shot hitting the crossbar. The breakthrough came just before halftime when Miedema, with a skillful run and sublime finish, curled the ball into the far corner of the net, marking her 100th goal for the national team. This milestone makes her the first Dutch footballer, male or female, to reach thisnumber of goals for the Netherlands.

Wales, making their debut in a major tournament, struggled to contain the Dutch attack. Despite introducing Ella Powell in an attempt to shift the momentum, they were quickly met with another goal. Victoria Pelova extended the Netherlands' lead with a crisp finish, assisted by Danielle van de Donk.

The Netherlands continued to dominate, with Roord and Jackie Groenen both hitting thecrossbar. Esmee Brugts then added a third goal, volleying in a cross from Pelova. The match took place at Allmend Stadion in Lucerne. The victory places the Netherlands in a strong position in Group D.
