Congress Secures Historic Victory in Kadaba Town Panchayat Elections, Winning Majority Over BJP's Five Seats

The election for the 13 wards of the Kadaba Town Panchayat was held on August 17, 2025. A total of 32 candidates contested in the election. The election saw a voter turnout of 8,334 eligible voters, including 4,018 men and 4,318 women.

  • Ward 1-Kalara: Tamanna Jabin of Congress won with 201 votes.
  • Ward 2-Kodibailu: Kusuma Angadimane of BJP won with 187 votes.
  • Ward 3-Panya: Mohammed Paizal of Congress won with 320 votes.
  • Ward 4-Bedraje: Simon C.J. of Congress won with 232 votes.
  • Ward 5- Maleshwara: Haneef K.M. of Congress won with 297 votes.
  • Ward 6-Kadaba: Neelavathi Shivaram of Congress won with 314 votes.
  • Ward 7-Panemajalu: Rohith Gowda of Congress won with 333 votes.
  • Ward 8-Pijakkala: Dayananda Gowda P. of BJP won with 386 votes.
  • Ward 9-Muraje: Krishnappa Poojari of Congress won with 263 votes.
  • Ward 10- Keradka: Shobha Rajesh Gowda of BJP won with 329 votes.
  • Ward 11- Balakka: Sheshappa Pujari of BJP won with 344 votes.
  • Ward 12- Majjaru: Mohana of BJP won with 306 votes.
  • Ward 13- Pulikukku: Krishna Nayak of Congress won with 315 votes.

With Congress securing a majority of 8 seats, the party is set to take control of the Kadaba Town Panchayat. This victory marks a significant achievement for the Congress, which has been making efforts to strengthen its position in the Dakshina Kannada district. The BJP, which had a stronghold in the region, secured 5 seats.

The Kadaba Town Panchayat election is crucial for both parties as it sets the stage for upcoming Taluk Panchayat, Zilla Panchayat, and municipal elections.
