Paris Saint-Germain secured a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich in the Club World Cup quarterfinal at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The match was filled with drama, including a potentially serious injury to Bayern's Jamal Musiala, two red cards for PSG, and late goals that sealed the win for the French side.

The first half was eventful, although it remained goalless. Bayern's Dayot Upamecano had a goal disallowed for offside. The most significant event of the first half was a collision between Bayern's Jamal Musiala and PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, resulting in a suspected broken ankle for Musiala. Donnarumma's dive to claim the ball led to a collision with Musiala near the end line. The injury appeared severe, causing distress among players from both teams.

The game's deadlock was broken in the 78th minute by Désiré Doué, who struck a left-footed shot past Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. Joao Neves stole the ball from Harry Kane and passed to Doué, who was positioned just outside the penalty area.

PSG's Willian Pacho received a red card in the 82nd minute for a reckless challenge, reducing PSG to 10 players. Bayern then had a goal by Harry Kane disallowed for offside. In stoppage time, PSG's Lucas Hernandez was also sent off for elbowing Raphael Guerreiro, leaving PSG with only nine players.

Despite being two players down, PSG managed to extend their lead in the final moments of the game. Achraf Hakimi set up Ousmane Dembélé, who scored to make it 2-0. A late penalty was initially awarded to Bayern after a high foot from Nuno Mendes appeared to catch Thomas Muller, but the decision was overturned after a VAR review.

With this win, PSG advances to the Club World Cup semifinal, where they will face either Real Madrid or Borussia Dortmund. The match is scheduled to take place on Wednesday in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
