The FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund is underway at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. This match is a rematch of the 2024 Champions League final, which Real Madrid won 2-0. The winner of this quarter-final will face either Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich in the semi-final.

Real Madrid beat Juventus 1-0 in their round of 16 tie. Borussia Dortmund beat Monterrey of Mexico 2-1 in their last-16 match. Fluminense and Chelsea have already booked their place in the semi-finals. In the third quarterfinal, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Bayern Munich. PSG were reduced to nine men but still managed to win.

Real Madrid's starting lineup includes Courtois, Fran Garcia, Huijsen, Rudiger, Alexander-Arnold, Tchouameni, Bellingham, Valverde, Vinicius, Gonzalo Garcia, and Guler. Borussia Dortmund's lineup includes Kobel, Süle, Anton, Bensebaini, Ryerson, Gros, Sabitzer, Nmecha, Svensson, Guirassy, and Adeyemi.

Jobe Bellingham is suspended for Borussia Dortmund after picking up a yellow card in the last 16. This prevents a clash between him and his older brother Jude Bellingham, who plays for Real Madrid. Other absentees for Real Madrid include Ferland Mendy, E. Camavinga, David Alaba, and Endrick. Borussia Dortmund is also without J. Bynoe-Gittens.

Real Madrid is favored to win the match, with 78.8% of fans predicting a victory for the Spanish side. The history of confrontations between these two teams is in favor of Real Madrid, with 8 victories to only 3 for Borussia Dortmund. There have also been 5 draws.

Gonzalo Garcia has scored again! He seems unstoppable, with four goals in the tournament. Real Madrid is leading 1-0. Fran Garcia is making great plays, winning the first corner of the match. Dortmund dealt with the initial danger, but a follow-up ball into the box almost found Bellingham in a dangerous position.
