Nagpur's underworld is currently on edge following the death of a gangster's wife who was allegedly having an affair with another member of the same gang. This incident has triggered a violent rift within the notorious Ippa gang of Central Nagpur.

The deceased woman, 29 years old, was reportedly in a secret relationship with Arshad Topi, a member of the Ippa gang. This affair defied explicit warnings, creating tension within the gang. On Thursday, July 3rd, 2025, while Arshad Topi and the woman were riding a two-wheeler near the Suradevi temple behind Koradi Mata temple, a JCB machine hit them in a desolate area. The woman, who was riding as a passenger, sustained critical injuries, while Arshad escaped with minor wounds.

A patrol vehicle from the Koradi thermal power plant transported the injured woman to a private hospital; however, she was denied admission. Subsequently, another hospital in Kamptee also refused to provide treatment. Arshad then arranged for an ambulance to take her to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries on Friday morning, sending shockwaves through the Ippa gang.

CCTV footage from the private hospital showed Arshad accompanying the injured woman. The Ippa gang members, feeling betrayed, have vowed to kill Arshad for his actions, causing turmoil within the city's underworld. It is estimated that at least 40 armed goons have spread across the city and suburban Kamptee to find and kill Arshad Topi.

Fearing for his life, Arshad Topi sought refuge at the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Niketan Kadam in Pardi. DCP Kadam, aware of the Ippa gang's reputation, sent Arshad to the Koradi police station, where his statement was recorded. According to Kadam, Arshad sought protection but was hesitant to register a formal case.

The mafia king, whose wife was involved in the affair, has reportedly contacted other city gangs for support and backup to seek revenge on Arshad. An underworld informer alerted the police, and police stations across the city have been activated.

This incident highlights the complex dynamics and potential for violence within the Nagpur underworld. The affair, the accidental death, and the subsequent thirst for revenge have created a volatile situation, with law enforcement working to maintain order and prevent further bloodshed. The case remains under investigation, with authorities closely monitoring the activities of the Ippa gang and other involved parties.
