The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup final has arrived, featuring a highly anticipated match between the United States and Mexico. The game takes place on Sunday, July 6, at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

This is the eighth time the two rivals have met in the Gold Cup final. Mexico has historically dominated these encounters, winning five of the seven previous finals. However, the United States won the most recent final between the two in 2021. Overall, the two teams have played each other 78 times, with Mexico holding the advantage with 37 wins to the USA's 24, and 17 draws.

Mexico is aiming for their third consecutive Concacaf title. They advanced to the final after topping their group and then outlasting Panama in penalties in the quarterfinal, followed by a 1-0 victory over Honduras in the semi-final. Their squad features veteran players such as Edson Alvarez and Raul Jimenez. Key players for Mexico in the tournament have been defender César Montes, who leads the team with three goals, and forward Raúl Jiménez, who has contributed two goals.

The United States, under head coach Mauricio Pochettino, is looking to secure their eighth Gold Cup title. Pochettino expressed his confidence in the team, stating that he had a dream about winning and lifting the trophy. The US team includes players such as Diego Luna, Matt Freese, and Malik Tillman. Luna and Tillman have been instrumental in the USMNT's success, each scoring three goals during the tournament.

Eight of the last 10 finals between the USMNT and Mexico in both the Gold Cup and Nations League have been won by the team that scored first. The United States secured a 2-1 victory over Mexico in the 2007 Gold Cup final, marking their first-ever win against El Tri in a Gold Cup final. In the 2019 final, Mexico defeated the U.S. 1-0, securing their eighth Gold Cup title. In 2009, Mexico recorded their biggest win ever in a Gold Cup final, with a 5-0 victory over the United States.

The match will be broadcast on FOX, with live streaming available on Fubo.
